Straight Chilling: Horror Movie Review

Another reviewer already said it, but it bears repeating. Enough with the sound board- it’s objectively annoying and detracts from an otherwise solid podcast. Would have rated it a 5/5 if not for that.

Been listening to this show for years. Every episode is a blast and the banter keeps me laughing consistently. Highly recommend you check them out if you have any interest in horror films.

Most podcasts are plagued by some kind of auto ducking or auto noise reduction that cuts off the starts of sentences, but not this one. Maybe they need to learn how to place mics better, though, as plosives are easy to eliminate, and one of the speakers, Justin I think, is too loud and is getting too much proximity effect, which is jarring compared to the other speakers. Whoever is editing needs to at least even out everyone’s levels, which is just a few mouse clicks. A little more detailed research would also be good (not Wikipedia). But surprisingly engaging. I do wish we could have more women’s voices and perspectives in these sorts of podcasts.

These guys keep it real, and the show format is really well done. They keep on topic and are passionate about the genre and have a great group of guests that frequent the show.
