Interesting and engaging to listen to these episodes that span music and entertainment. Billy fits shockingly well in the role of interviewer and his music history knowledge, industry experience, and natural curiosity make him an ideal podcast host. I relish his detailed approach to exploring angles and elements of his guests that speak to what many of us want to know but also take us to new places and insights. My hope is that he continues the podcast during or between tours because this show has so much value for its audience. His hints at other friends or potential guests have me excited to see what happens next with the show—he mentioned knowing Ian Astbury from the criminally underrated The Cult, who would be an amazing guest!
Just Saying

I am so into this podcast rn that I am not sure I can be objective but also , why should I be? These are genuine, respectful , interesting interviews with an eclectic mix of people who are relevant and timeless. These interesting and thought provoking interviews shed light on performers experiences and reignite my own interest in their past and current work. Thank you!
Corgan talks too much…

Billy Corgan books some incredible guests, but you’ll hardly hear from them. He constantly interrupts, steers conversations back to himself, and rarely lets his guests get a word in. What could be a fascinating show ends up feeling more like a Corgan monologue than a true interview. A missed opportunity.
Some feedback and advice for balanced conversations

It's hard to listen to an entire episode with all the interrupting and personal agendas. To anyone wanting to improve their conversational skills, it might help to become aware of how much mental energy you're putting into thinking about when and how you're gonna respond versus trying to quiet your mind and mostly listen. Secondly, when someone is talking and sharing about themselves and the other person retorts by trying to show they understand by giving examples of their own life, one is essentially changing the subject. Try to stick to the subject and ask follow up questions that would allow the person to expand or clarify what they're saying. Billy does this once in a while, but there is still a big imbalance. It's not easy to be an effective podcast host. Good interview could be like a good song. You don't want to solo most of the time, you want to create meaningful space and silence, and you definitely want to allow others to shine and communicate. Thank you for all the beautiful music SP!
