Bishop and Donna Martin run the church of Possum Trot in East Texas, where they along with the families of the community have taken in seventy-seven children through adoption. Birbalsingh was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 2020 and Honorary Fellow of New College, Oxford in 2021.
